Xcode 5 table views with cells

Good morning all. This is my first post. I'm developing a new iPhone application with xcode 5 and I am trying to connect 2 single view controllers. What I'm trying to do is, when I'm adding a table view and cells, I'm connecting a specific cell to the new view controller (i have added a label to the cell that I'm connecting), so when the user clicks on the cell the new view will appear. But when I'm running the application it does not work. What should I do ?
