Yesterday on my partner's iPad (and as it happens, her MacBook Pro), she would Google, and the results would include many 'https...' sites.

Does the same thing today, on both machines, and the results have NO 'https...' site, only 'http...' sites.

All she can think is that last night she casually clicked the 'OK' button on a Google privacy update, and that must have included some sort of update to her search results.

Any better ideas? My iPad, and my Mac Mini, are behaving 'normally'. We have different IP addresses to each other (her IP for the iPad is the same as her IP for her MacBook).

And if it is a sneaky (although pointless) Google update, is there any way of reversing it?

Thanks.

Allen.

Is this in Google Chrome browser, or just using google internet search? Also, have you restarted either device? The next thing would be to clear cache or history for whichever browser(s) this is happening with.

It's Safari, then Google as a bookmark. Yes, tried restarting all devices. Haven't yet tried clearing cache on any. I'll do that next...

The odd thing is that Googling on her iPad gives 'www. etc' addresses, NOT 'http.www. etc'. Seems Google have dropped the http and https, but no idea why!

Quick update. She's been screen-chatting to Apple (for an hour or more!) and their best advice is that it is a 'Known Issue', and it's being worked on.

Should be cleared in next weeks with a Software Update, although how Google is affected in this way, gord knows.
