iPhone XR - iOS 13

When composing a new email a Calendar event / notification may pop up which freezes the email composition and I have to touch the notification, which opens, take some action on that, and then go back to the email. Is there a way to stop those Notifications from popping up in emails?

All notifications when your phone is unlocked will show up as a Banner (on top of the screen). If you want to ignore that notification, then simply swipe UP on the notification, do NOT click on it since that will take you to the application that threw the notification. Once the notification is dismissed, you can continue in your current app. Once you are done, swipe down from the top notch and you will get the notification center which should show you those notifications and you can now safely touch it to launch the application.
