Do you have an Apple ID and password? That's what it's asking for.

When you restore, you get back whatever backup you are restoring, you don't lose it all. That would be a factory reset. And whatever iCloud information you had on there before is what was restored, so you should definitely have access to it.

You at least should know what your Apple ID email is, then go to icloud.apple.com and reset your password. Once you do that, you can log back in on your phone.

When started post, l had connected it to my mbpr's itunes, and l got given two choices to restore or "Set up as new iPhone",l remembered choosing restore first, but that didnt give me access to the phone, so think chose "Set up as new iPhone" where l'd lose everything and start afresh. this had to be done, as l no longer have access to the email or remember the security answers. sounds so suspicious l know. l do have the receipt though. is there any way l can get back into my iphone 5s without having to take it to Apple store?
