Maybe you intercepted it. This last update feels like a final although I know there is a developer beta 5. Can’t find anything wrong with it. Maybe I’m not trying hard enough but all of the glaring faults I reported have been fixed as far as I can see.

Installing Public beta 7 at the moment.

Must be close to release now I would assume.

I read yesterday that there could be as many as another 3 beta releases before the final version. That would make 10 in all.

Well then they better hurry up and release those next three betas. Rumor has it the release date for Catalina will be late September or October.

I've been getting updates to several apps that formerly would not work with Catalina but now work. One important update was the latest for "PathFinder" which is an app that I use all the time. CCC has been up to date for some time and works well with Catalina. Most other apps that I use seem to work okay with Catalina. I still have one app that is a Windows 32 bit app which I refuse to give up. Haven't made up my mind what to do about that. Currently it runs fine with WINE or CrossOver.

Charlie, do you know for sure that a 32 bit Windows app, running in an emulator like WINE or CrossOver or any other emulator package, won't run? Seems to me that because it is embedded inside a 64-bit app, it should run. The OS should only care if WINE or CrossOver or whatever is 64-bit.

Won't run. I've already tested running my Windows 32 bit app with CrossOver from Catalina. The latest version of CrossOver runs fine as it's 64 bit, however, my Windows app will not launch. It runs fine under the same conditions from Mojave.

The developers of CrossOver have indicated to me that they're working on a version that has the ability to run Windows 32 bit apps from Catalina. We shall see.

Installing iOS/ iPadOS 13 Public Beta 7 as I write this so I think they might just make it.

I really think this iOS/iPadOS/WatchOS/AppleTV and macOS upgrade is one of the biggest changes I have seen across the board ever for Apple. With new and or integrated apps, the breakup of iTunes, the move to 64bit apps only, the new entertainment platform, Photos has a completely new look on iOS and iPadOS, Reminders has totally changed and cannot really work fully without macOS Catalina, iDevices are now to be accessible via Finder, the changes go on and on. Users are either going to love it or hate it dependant on how much they are willing to embrace change. For some it will no doubt be the strongest reason not to upgrade beyond Mojave or even High Sierra, a bit like the Snow Leopard affectionados or the users who never upgraded from El Capitan. Not that there is anything intrinsically wrong with that.
Personally I will be upgrading to Catalina as soon as all (or at least most) of the bugs are ironed out.

The Reminders and the lack of 32 bit apps might be the decider for me with Catalina. Otherwise I think the iPadOS is just a matter of getting used to the new icon size

I'm not that impressed with the new iPad OS. I've get the latest public beta installed and other than some minor things it appears the same as iOS 12. Maybe the final version will be different.

So is it true that iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 come out tomorrow?

Yes, it's true. Make sure you backup your phone and iPad before installing iOS 13.

Yes apparently, interestingly I just got notification of the Beta 4 of iOS 13.1.

Yes; it's all a bit confusing. Well, to me anyway:)

Why release iOS 13 and its iPad equivalent on 19 September, and then give a date of 30 September for the official release of iOS 13.1?

According to OS X Daily, there are a few additional features in the 13.1 which are not available in the 13.0 version.

Why not get the additional features and any assorted bugs ironed out and have a single release date - and just call it 13.0? Those of us with several iDevices will be faced with two updates in the space of 11 or 12 days.

I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky to be able to afford these at all - there are many who can't.

Better to wait for 13.1 I think. The beta for that is just installing on my test iPad. No notification of the actual release on iPhone or iPad Pro yet.

The beta of 13.1 has been pretty solid on my iPad Pro. I just installed beta #4 last night and everything seems to work well.
