Currently on 12.4 which I think is already a Beta

I have registered my iPad for the beta and the profile has changed from beta iOS 12.4 to 13.

However no updates showing yet. Is it just a matter of waiting until it shows up?

No, now you need to go to Apple Beta Software Program in your browser. Have a look at my first article on page 1 of this thread and read the instructions from iMore.

I'm beginning to think should start a new thread for feedback on the new (Beta versions) iOS and iPad OS 13 but just to finish up here; I have successfully installed the Beta iOS on my iPhone 7, the text editing functions and options are greatly improved. You can now place the cursor in the middle (or anywhere) in a word, this is something that has annoyed me for ages and the cut, copy and paste functions have been extended to include actions that you would normally only see on a computer. All up it's a big improvement for a small screen iPhone.

A new thread is not necessary. We can continue right here. Later on if our RSS feed provides more info, we'll refer back to that. Also, this is just the first of many iterations of the public beta. More to come. :smile

Rod, I have done that. Already registered, logged in, enrolled the device and downloaded and installed the profile.

Still no sign of an update on the device.

I have a sneaking suspicion that my iPad mini 2 is not compatible, which would explain the lack of an update.

Strange it did not say that when I registered the device and installed the profile.

Hi all, I've reported a couple of things on the Feedback app and I'm wondering if others have observed the same things?
Perhaps it's just me or a gap in my knowledge but it seems to me that Siri searches now close automatically and after a very short time interval. Perhaps it did that before but I'd never noticed it.
So the scenario is; I call up Siri with the "Hey Siri", ask a question, Siri responds with a list of appropriate web sites then before I can read more than three of the site descriptions Siri closes.
To my knowledge there is no way to see the results of a previous Siri search (am I wrong?).
I have tried this on iPhone and iPad with the same results.

I've decided to stay away from the iOS and iPadOS betas for now. Testing and fooling with Catalina is enough to keep me busy. Besides, it's a lot more difficult to go back after installing an iOS beta than a macOS beta.

I am with you Charlie on this. I installed Catalina on the 2nd partition of my late 2012 iMac. On my Ipads and iphone I would rather just use the release in case something goes wrong as I depend on both for certain daily things like bible study and other stuff that I don't want to loose and like you said it's a pain to go back on IOS.

ROD, can you check apples claim of reading external drives and flash drives in the new IOS? That one has me quite interested! Thanks!

Apple is "Sundowning" iTunes. That's the term they use, just a part of the ever expanding computer jargon of the times I suppose. Anyway regardless of the term it's only relevant to this thread because it means a completely new way of syncing your iDevices. Something else to consider before the upgrade to Catalina and will no doubt cause confusion for some and inevitably problems for others. Syncing of iDevices will now occur in Finder and iTunes will be devided up into three apps, Music, TV and Podcasts. See the new syncing in Finder process in more detail here;
About the upcoming changes with iTunes on Mac - Apple Support
This change may actually improve the syncing caperbilities of macOS as Apple claims, "it’s also easier to drag and drop files you want to transfer all in one place".
So just a "heads up" on what's to come.

@Rod I think you may have hit on my installation issue. My iPad says it is an iPad Air --which is not on the list that you posted.I had considered this as a possibility but hadn't gotten around to checking it out. I could have sworn that previous betas ran a check to make sure the device was compatible. Am I wrong on that?

The other possibility was that I had to create more free space.

Well if it’s an iPad 2 it’s definitely off the list an if it’s an iPad Air 2 then that’s off the list as well. Maybe iOS 12 is as far as you can go after all but I would have thought there would be some notification when you downloaded the profile.

Hmm, I’ll check that. Sorry I’ve been on a break.

So I’m sad to say I cannot find any specific information on the question. We may have to wait till closer to the release date or until there are more detailed previews.

In the meantime for anyone who has decided upgrading to the beta iOS/iPadOS was a bad idea and would like to downgrade to the previous iOS 12.3.1 here is a pretty good step by step
How to Downgrade iPhone from iOS 13 Beta to iOS 12.3.1 - Syncios Manager for iOS & Android
Alternatively you can just wait until mid-late September for the finished version which should appear as an update in Settings.

Good find Rod. I'm sure there will be some who want/need to do that.

I'm happy to say that I don't anticipate having to use that process myself. It's pretty tedious, for my iPhone 7 a lot more involved than the installation process.
All in all despite a few minor glitches nothing that interferes with functional use. No updates yet either so all good. I have noticed G-Board is a bit buggy but I imagine Google will fix that soon. I especially like the improvements to text editing and dark mode.

I notice that iOS 13 Beta on an iPhone will not appear in iTunes (Mojave) as I expected but from what I have read it will backup to iCloud as per the usual process, when locked, connected to WiFi and on charge as it did today at 1630.
I have also found iOS 13 Beta does not play well with the current Apple Watch OS. If however you disregard the iOS Watch App and do everything directly on the Watch all works fine, notifications are normal, alarms, calendars and app settings on the iPhone all work as expected but Face Complications do not correspond to the iPhone Watch app. I have 5 complications on my Watch Modular face but only one shows in the iOS Watch App.
If I was willing to go to the trouble of installing the beta version of the Watch OS this issue would probably be resolved.
For now I am happy with iOS and ipadOS beta 13.
