On my phone I have found a photo that I have long since deleted in photos. It isn't showing up under the albums tab, camera roll, recently deleted, or hidden but it is showing up under the timeline or moments. How do I delete this photo? Unlike the rest of the photos the trashcan icon is greyed out if I select it. I can hide it but it still shows up under hidden photos. I don't have iCloud photos enabled.:Angry:

I tried resynching my phone with itunes but the pic is still there. iTunes isn't set to sync photos. Nothing else seems to be applicable. Any other suggestions? Also how do I keep books from showing my entire library by default? I don't read books on my phone. I have a few pdfs on my phone but that's all I want to use the books app for. I tried going by this but the trash can icon is greyed out. I've hated iOS 12 since I installed it.

The phone isn't connecting to imazing. Every time I launch the app I got a prompt to install the drivers. Then it restarts after the supposed install and I get the same prompt. If I click on ignore it looks like I am being prompted to connect my phone and when I do on the phone I am prompted to allow the connection which I approve however it doesn't show up. Now iTunes is screwed up and telling me that it needs to be reinstalled. I forgot to mention that I am using Windows 7. Does that make a difference?

Have you looked at iCloud.com, and tried to delete the photo from there?

Also, is the Books app syncing through iTunes, or iCloud?

I don't do Windows, , and it sounds like you didn't download the Mac version, and didn't Windows 7 stop working properly back in Noah's time???

EDIT:
Have you tried connecting your iPhone and running Image Capture.app and see if it shows the photo/Image you are looking for.

I don't use icloud and nothing is showing up on icloud.com. I don't have image capture.app. iTunes is so screwed up so I'm going to have to reinstall that.

The photo is being synced to your device, from wherever you sync it from. Once you figure out where it is, you will be able to delete it from there.

Well, I don't know what your setup is but image capture.app cannot be accidentally deleted unless you are running as root. Or at least not normally that is!!

And from your description, it sounds like your Mac is a bit of a mess and it may be time to do a Mac OS X reinstall.

It's going to be quite hard to fix your problem if the needed tools don't even work or exist.

Maybe an OS X reinstall may even help fix your problems.

I reinstalled iTunes and that fixed the accessing the phone through imazing. I did find the photo was there however when I tried I couldn't delete it. The first time I tried I got an error message that it could only edit synced albums or something like that. When I try again it just sat there spinning. I also found the photo in the backup and I tried to open it but got the error message that it is stored in icloud. I went into the icloud settings on my phone, enabled photos and then disabled it so now it is gone. I synced again with iTunes and that removed it from the backup.

Now how about the books issue?

So, do I assume that one problem is finally fixed but you have another??? Something about books...???

I'll check in tomorrow.

Are the books actually on your device, or is it only showing books in iCloud?

OK, now I'm confused as to what OS you are actually using!!

Maybe you should be using some Windows 7 Forum for your problems and questions??? Just a thought to maybe better fit the OS being used.

I volunteer on a windows 7 forum however I thought for an iOS issue, this would be a better place after all the issue was originally in my phone not my computer. The photo issue is solved. As for books, it is only showing the purchased books but they aren't downloaded.

Were these books purchased from the Apple Store and were they purchased using your OS X Mac or your iOS iPhone???

Are they showing on your Mac and/or ever downloaded to it??

Again, it would help if you provided some better precise details of your problem and situation if you can.

Are the users on your Windows 7 forum as vague when describing their problems??? :Smirk:

I bought them through the books app on my ipad and since installing ios 12 all of them are showing up in the books app on my phone even though I never downloaded them. My mac isn't involved at all. As posted before I tried the steps here HOWEVER the trashcan icon shown is greyed out. Any ideas on what I can do to hide those books since they aren't downloaded and I don't want to download them.
