How do I stop the ANNOYING auto number feature in notes in an EXISTING document? Apparently it isn't possible? every carriage return generates yet another number increment. for example, I have notes for car maintenance. Say i'll add, 344400 1.14.19 to indicate the mileage and the date. When I press return it comes up with
344401 underneath it and I can' get rid of it or stop it. Am I crazy? Thanks for any help.

ios 12.1.2, iphone 6

What's happening is that iOS Notes is implementing a "numbered list". That option can be turned off easily in the macOS version but I can not find anything that will do the same in the iOS version. It appears you'll just have to manually edit the notes to remove that annoying unwanted entry. Perhaps someone else may have an idea on how to remove that "feature".

My work around was to put a slash in between the two numbers but not ideal.
Thanks chscag

Totally unrelated - You have a vehicle with 344k miles/kms? Wow!
