After the iOS 12 update, Siri does not read/reply to text when the screen is locked, she asks for unlocking the screen first:

I have red up on the subject of "Reset All Settings", that basically resets all configurations to default without deleting data. Note that this is not the "Erase All Content and Settings", that's more like a thermonuclear option.

Would the "Reset All Settings" fix the issue linked above, or I should just wait for the first patch for the iOS 12?

TIA...

I would certainly try the "Reset All Settings" first to see if that resolves it. If that doesn't work, I guess you can wait for 12.1 which is being beta tested.

@Cr00zng

I should be very surprised if you had not done this already as you seem to have tried everything; but...

Using the link below on how to turn OFF Siri on a Locked screen, why not do just that. Follow the Turn OFF steps, soft-start the iPhone and reverse the process. Sounds daft, maybe is, but I've had that scenario work for me in the past. Basically Disable/re-Enable.

Thanks guys...

At this point, I have some doubts that the "Reset All Settings" would fix it and rather just wait for the first update for iOS 12. Resetting all of my customized setting would take some time and that includes Wi-Fi connections. If the update fails to fix it, the option of "Reset All Settings" still going to be there.

Neither the soft, nor the hard restart made a difference and that made me wonder. Would this behavior be by design? Siri cannot read my email with locked screen either, but has no issues with unlocked screen. On the other hand, Siri can make a phone call, locked screen or not...
