Deleting the Gmail App (?)

On her iPad (9.3.5), my wife has sometimes been using Apple Mail and sometimes the Gmail app (5.0.180506). They both work with the same gmail address. It's all got into a bit of a muddle.

I'd like to delete the Gmail app altogether. But would this this impact on e-mails that are already in Mail?

As long as you setup both applications to use IMAP (and not POP) then deleting the GMail app shouldn't be an issue. If you used POP instead, it's possible that email is only present in the GMail app and you might lose it if you delete app.

So confirm the setup and then delete away.
