iOS 11.02 released

Well another update to iOS 11 is available. We are now up to 11.02. This should fix the crackling sound some are hearing when they make calls on an iPhone 8. Also fixed issues where some photos are hidden. Fixes issues where S/MIME encrypted emails with attachments would not open.

Updated both our phones and iPad. Also Apple has released the iOS 11.1 beta to the public for testing.

Lord, sometimes it seems they send out a new version and then the rapid fire of fixes and updates follow. I know it usually is a good thing but it can be annoying especially since i have to update my husbands iPhone and iMac at home. My home connection is VERY slow and it takes a VERY long time. Oh well, off my soap box... for now.

This seems to imply that during testing of the iPhone 8, there weren't enough people actually making phone calls to detect this flaw.

Sums up modern society's priorities in using these very expensive "phones".

Sue - I actually love iOS 11. It made my iPhone 7+ faster and more reliable. After the last update to iOS 10, my phone would lock up when a call came in. I determined it would happen if the phone was just connecting to wifi when a call occurred. It was like it was confused about what network to use. I had to do a hard reset to get it to function. It would lock up on the call screen like I should be talking to someone only there was nothing. I could not hang up or get out of the screen.

So I actually like iOS 11 a lot - it fixed my call lock up issue and made it faster. I have seen some say battery life is less but I am not seeing that and neither is my husband who has a 7.

I'm afraid I am a victim of the S/MIME issue. I registered with a forum and they sent me an email to verify but Mail announced it could not open the content. I cannot get the site to send again and can't re register because email address is listed as used. Hohum? Did not have my MBP with me and now that I have the email has expired.

Charlie, on of the things fixed in the 11.0.2 update was failure to open S/MIME attachments in email.

11.0.3 now released. Seems OK so far on iPhone. Not tried the iPad yet
