1st gen. ipodtouch cant connect to itunes

Hey guys, i dont post here very often, i was just curious if any of you have had this problem and have a way to fix it. i have a first generation ipod touch that cannot connect to an itunes account to download apps. i was just curious if anyone new how to add a new itunes account to the ipod.

EDIT: i just attempted to do it again and correction it says cannot connect to the itunes store
