I know I can take items from my iCal program and put them on my iPod by syncing, but say I put an entry directly into my iPod calendar (which is much more likely when I'm on the go). Can I then sort of sync backwards, so what's on my iPod, which is more current, gets transferred to my iCal on the Mac? Thanks!

While syncing your iPod it should sync "backwards" as you stated. Just try adding a calendar entry in your ipod and sync it in itunes and while syncing calendars it will prompt for you to answer if you would like to update your calendar on ical or something in that manner. press ok and it should sync it to ical. try this and if it doesn't work let me know. i'll try to be clearer if you don't understand exactly what i've said to do but i hope this post is somewhat clear enough to follow. good luck . =)

Yes the items from your iPod Touch or iPhone Calendars sync both ways - changes you make on your portable device will reflect on the computer and vice versa - this is also true of your contacts - any changes you make when on the go will copied over to the Macs Address Book on next sync.

Thanks. I have been away for a while, so I'm just now getting your responses. Haven't tried to sync it to iCal yet, but I will let you know if I have trouble. Thanks again!

Just an update: I tried it, and it worked. I was able to take my contacts and calendar entries from my iPod and send them to my computer. Thanks for your help!
