sounds quite straight forward, after reading How to Find the Location of the Email Sender in Gmail l simply changed my time zone, the mac time zone changed but the receiver still received the local time of the sender, me.
it seems ipaddress is not shown to receiver, in under 'show details'. is this true?

Most servers always keep time in a universal format (that usually means GMT+0 also called UTC in computer parlance). Anyway, the stored date/time is always translated to the local time zone depending on where you are. You can do all the hackery you want on your local machine, this has NOTHING to do with the GMail servers which are storing and relaying your emails. The time that the receiver will see is when they got the email and it will be relative to their time zone.

So tell us what you are trying to accomplish, and we will try to help you.

thanks for reply Raz0rEdge. l want to be able to put a local timezone on the email, rather than a foreign one where the email is sent. is there no way of doing that with web emails?

Again, I ask, what is your intention? What are you trying to accomplish? Why does it matter what the date/time is?

Wouldn't gmail be a better place to ask?
