I have been for a long time moving pictures from my Lumix DMC-ZS40 to my iMac over my wireless local network, no issues.

On the Camera I select the Mac PC Name, Camera asks for input for user name and password. Now I am getting message user name and password not recognized.

I can no longer connect the camera to the network connected iMac. I keep getting message the User Name and password is incorrect for my iMac user account. I have entered them correctly now at least 20 times. I wireless connect to the network, no issue.

This is driving me crazy. I can connect the camera to the MyCloud network drive no issue, but no longer to the iMac.

My account name and user name are the same 11 characters long all lower case.

File Sharing is set for destination folder.

Always has worked!

Can anyone help here.

How do I verify the account name and password on the iMac other than the User and Groups Preferences.

I appreciate any feedback here.

iMac, El Capitan!

Have you tried disconnecting everything, shutting down, wait 30 – 40 seconds or more, then boot up and try again???

Have you made or done any recent software changes or updates lately?

Maybe uninstall the software and do a clean install.

Thanks for responding. This is driving me nuts. The Lumix Camera is a wireless client. It connects to everything Cloud drives, Windows PC's, inputting the Device name, user name and password, transferring the pictures to a shared folder. And until recently has always connected to the iMac.

Something has changed and I can not figure out what happened. On the iMac the Lumix Client connects to the network, no issue, finds the iMac, no issue, but will not accept any user name or passwords from any Mac that I own.

Just connected it to my Windows Laptop and Cloud drive in about 30 seconds.

So what is set wrong on these Mac's that is preventing the acceptance of the user name, password combination.

I stubborn about solving this issue. It bothers me.

Thanks

I am a bit confused here as I re-read this, and maybe you could explain when you say you CANNOT connect the iMac and camera, yet you CAN connect to the network. And I gather the iMac is part of that network.

Can you possibly use Image Capture.app to successfully connect the iMac with the camera???

Is there a Lumix Camera support or forum group you could check with, if you haven't done so already.

PS: I'm sure you have checked that your caps lock isn't on by mistake, right???? ;D

You are right the Lumix client connects wireless to the Network, no issue, identifies the iMac name, but will not accept the user name and password.

Everything is in lower case.

Thanks

There could be something wrong with the camera, but it connects without issue to everything but Apple Products.

Panasonic Lumix support was no help, useless, and there is no way to re flash the Lumix firmware so I guess it will just be unsolved.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

iMac, El Capitan!

Did you recently update to El Capitan as it contains extra privacy and security features earlier versions didn't use.

Also, it's interesting that the Panasonic site says none of their software works with Mac, especially wireless. Odd, and I guess you're using the same method now as you did when it worked??

Have you tried using ImageCapture.app as I mentioned above??? I wouldn't be surprised if it worked, and may not even need any login or password and would be surprised if it did. I'd say worth a try or just use a USB or whatever cable required.

But I'm sure there's a secret somewhere for using wireless and getting the username and password working properly. That seems a bit odd but I would suspect some MacOS security update changed things.

You bring up a great point. I think not to long ago there was an El Capitan update. I can find any report that shows any updates on my iMac. Seems like there should be something.

I know something has changed. If I new when I installed that update I could go back using time machine and restore the Mac prior to that update.

Where is that update log?

Thanks

I think you might have it!

On Oct 31st I installed an update or something.

GateKeeper Configuration data from Apple.

Prior that date the connection was working. I think!

Do you know anything about this?

So you are right! I was able to use screen sharing to Connect the client camera to my G5, connect and download pictures.

Apple does it once again. What did they do to their OS specially El Capitan that has caused Clients to no longer connect to their Mac PC's.

How far back do I have to go in Time Machine to undo Apple's updates.

Wasted a lot of time on this.

Thanks for your help!

Google can be your friend here!!

Silent night: El Capitan’s security settings files
https://eclecticlight.co/2016/05/04/silent-night-el-capitans-security-settings-files/

And a general search for other hits such as:
https://www.google.com/search?clien...nfiguration+data+el+capitan&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

And as I keeps suggesting, try using Image Capture.app after turning on your Lumix camera and see if it doesn't show up under "Shared" dvices or something.

And JFYI:
Gatekeeper Configuration Data
Latest version: 156, 30 October 2018.
This is an SQLite database which is placed in /private/var/db/gkopaque.bundle/Contents/Resources/gkopaque.db to provide blacklists and whitelists for Gatekeeper’s security system, which checks the code signatures of apps. El Capitan doesn’t have a Gatekeeper ‘disk version’, unlike Sierra and later.

If you look in the App Store Updates, will show when & what last update was.

Not in my case, and the MP 922 AIO only has a wireless connection as an option in our home network setup.

Are you sure your Lumix camera was turned On?

But maybe they just don't work that way. I'd need to do some checking if it were my situation.

I got it to work!
Found this link and set the world time on the camera to the same time zone as home time.

Congratulations, and good sleuthing. Who would have guessed the problem was a serious time difference???

And nice that there was actually a fix for your problem. And a bit odd that Panasonic doesn't support the Mac properly, if at all, according to a lot of their support and setup comments.

I've a Lumix camera but have never dared change the name of my MBP so I insert the SD card, but then I have a machine (2015 model) which has all the relevant ports. I use wifi transfer on iphone and ipad no bother.
