I can't seem to find any relative info on how to forward a text message with my MacBook Air running High Sierra.
Any and all direction/input/instruction will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Right click on the message, then select Forward? This is how it is done on macOS Mojave (10.14).

Hi Ferrari !

Thank you for your response.

I've tried the right-click action and FORWARD is not one of the available options that appears !!

Any other suggestions?

Actually, the method Bob suggests, despite being the Apple-approved way, does not work for me either. I am on macOS High Sierra.

The workaround is clumsy but works!

Open Messages on your Mac. Find the message you want to Forward.

Use your cursor to highlight all the text. Use Cmd + C to copy it.

Now click on the "New Message" icon, it's a square with a pencil in it, immediately to the right of the Search field at the top.

Choose your recipient(s) and then Cmd + V to paste the message into the text box of the new message. Hit Send.

There has to be a better way. Dashed if I can find it. And of course this applies to text-only messages. Attachments....?

Ian

EDIT Also found that if you want to send ALL the messages in a conversation, click on a blank part of the conversation window and Cmd + A will select all the messages. Then Copy and Paste as above.

I'll keep working on this.

Hi IWT:

Thanks for your input !! I will definitely use your method but can't help but wonder why there isn't a less involved process available in High Sierra.

Thanks again.

When you right-click on the message you want to forward, make sure the cursor is a pointer and not the vertical I. You will have to carefully move move the cursor to the edge of the message to make sure you get the right options.

If you right-click with the pointer, you get: Tapback, Forward, Copy, Delete, Services... and if you right-click with the I, you get: Tapback, View, Lookup "<selected word>", Search Google, Copy, Services

I'm on High Sierra.

Oh my goodness, Ashwin; when done slowly and with precision, you are absolutely correct. You get the Forward option.

I have to say, it's subtle to put it mildly.

And there was I working and researching for a more user-friendly workaround.

Tres bien!

Hi Raz0rEdge !!

Very much appreciate the input/instruction !! Will see if I can make it work !! I'm also interested in being able to forward an ENTIRE message with all the different back and forth messages contained therein. Will/would the same procedure apply/be successful??

Thanks again.

If you want to forward an entire conversation, click (making sure the cursor is the pointer and NOT the vertical I) on the first message, hold down the SHIFT key and then carefully select the last message in the conversation. The grey and blue bubbles should all get get darker indicating that they were highlighted, now you can right click to choose forward. When I did that, I got a new message and text looks like:

Person 1:
<this is what they said>
Person 2:
<this is what they said>
Person 1:
<blah blah>
Person 2:
<foo bar>

I didn't actually forward that message, so not sure how it will look on the recipients side. When you do this, let us know if you get bubbles for each part of the conversation or just a single (more likely) bubble with all the back and forth.

Hi Raz0rEdge !!

Just did a TEST forwarding of an entire message using your procedure/method and IT WORKED PERFECTLY !!! The resulting/forwarded entire message was all compressed into one single blue / bubble message!!

EUREEKA !! Can't thank you enough for your attention to, and cooperation in, this issue !!

Go to one of his posts. Under his name, look to the very bottom and you will see, from the left, a thumbs up icon and to its right a black triangle.

Click on the thumbs up. This will show his name (so you are sure you've got the right person), put any comments in the window. Clicl I approve (should be done for you) and Click on "Add to Reputation".
