Hi newbie here...

My USB's on my macbook retina (mid2012) have broken after a little 'accident'

Can you get a cable to run USB2.0 from the thunderbolt or even HDMI socket?

Comments appreciated!

Thank you!

There are plenty of Thunderbolt-to-USB adapters from Monoprice.com or Amazon or wherever you like, really. They will mostly be USB 3.0, but your mid-2012 had USB 3.0 anyway, and it is backward-compatible with any USB 2.0 stuff you want to hook up, so the answer is "yes."

There are even TB hubs and video adapters that can let you do the video thing as well as USB, all at the same time.
