Based on the fact that the posters ISP is Consolidated and the test host is in Houston, TX, pretty good bet they are in Texas. That's quite an impressive speed, gotta wonder how much that costs..:)

My work connection..

Pigoo, I started using that screen name a while back when we lived in Dubai and it just stuck.

Razoredge, actually it's quite cheap for internet here. 70$ a month including taxes for the gigabit line, the speed I posted is a little slow I usually get around 900 up and down.

I pay for 100mbps and 6mbps upload at home. I get around 75-110 mbps d/l and 3-5mbps upload, is that good?

Looks like you're mostly getting what you're paying for.:)

At least you have a good decent consistent speed that many in the boondocks, would I'm sure, be almost ready to sell their soul for. :Smirk:

Geez, didn't realize so many people on this forum had such ridiculously fast internet speeds  I pay $66/month for about 130 down and 11 or so up. I feel like I'm getting ripped off when bigdaveindubai is paying $70 for 900 up and down. Sheesh.

That seems to be the case for many but most often it's not stated if the high speed (bandwidth) is actually needed or used or what the cost is.

For our area, we pay about $78.00cdn for just the 35.5dn/6.5up unlimited data as part of a bundle which I feel is a bit on the expensive side. But similar area's Internet costs are usually more expensive in Canada than the US.

Yeah, I definitely don't need those blazing-fast speeds. I don't even need what I have now. Until they upgraded my modem (and only because the old one was failing), I was around 65 down and 5 up and honestly I don't perceive any difference now, but then again I'm not running a live-stream or have multiple devices streaming/downloading lots of content, etc. Just wish my bill were closer to $50/month instead of creeping up towards $70+ (it's gone up $6 within the last 6 months). I'm with Spectrum (Charter) and the only other real game in town that I know of is AT&T, but I've had nothing but poor experiences with them in the past (constant outages and slow, apathetic support).

If AT&T has some cheaper rate, not just a three month reduced price offer, then call you Spectrum Customer Support and ask them what rate they can offer you as a loyal customer with the pretense that you'll switch without some reduction.

You never know what they may do or say but often they'll do something. Even if you have to sign an agreement.

And this is a GOOD day. Doesn't get any better than this. Costs me about $40 a month.
