I have a AT&T 2WIRE (3800HGV-B) Uverse Wireless Modem, currently operating downstairs. I speedtested and I receive 1-2 megabits less when I am on my macbook pro upstairs.

What would I need to boost my signal upstairs and what product would you recommend (cheap would be nice).

Thanks,
David

There are netgear powerline extenders which work pretty well.

But one man's cheap is another man's expensive. Do you have a budget in mind? The extenders run $90 or $129, retail probably cheaper on ebay or search the web. The $90 is a rebroadcaster and the $129 has 2 units - one that connects to ethernet, and sends the signal through your powerline - then rebroadcasts it. I have the multimedia, wire to wire version and I can play movies through it, from a computer to my xbox downstairs. I would think the $129 would be more helpful - but you could try to get it at your local retailer with a return policy to see which one helps more.
