From my sister's wedding in Dundee

Forgive the ridiculously rushed blur effect. The new cars in the BR looked so.... new.

Trapsed around a 1300 year old Saxon church (Brixworth) this afternoon, and thought this made a good picture...

When i spent 3 yrs working holiday in the UK my first port of call was the little village of Kenilworth sort of in between Leamington Spa and Coventry. They had a old Castle (Kenilworth Castle) and very old Graves. Loved going there and doing HeadStone Scrapings with charcoal onto paper. . . .
This bought back memories (ThankYou :) ) and when i was there it was hard to fathom that this grave was here before Australia was even founded. Felt out of this world.

Nice shot BTW

I do like that shot Chuck. Well done. And tat.. there's no way you were alive in 1942! Funny as heck shot though!

Here's my contribution for now... Just some guy who was listening to his AM radio near my house. Found him to be an interesting subject:

Just got a new (used) 35mm f2 AIS Nikon lens (manual focus), as well as a little device that is used to block the on camera flash when using it for commander mode when using off camera speedlights (blocks whatever little light is emitted from the onboard flash) and wanted to test them out. This was the result. Bounced a single SB-600 off of my wall and got in Lilly's face @ f2 ISO 400. Only added a bit of sharpening and a touch of vibrance. Also slightly tweaked levels. All done in LR 3 and literally took less than 3 minutes.

My wife had her hand on Lilly's head, and was pulling her ears back. Focus is on her left eye.

I went to Kenilworth a few months back! It's a lovely place, that's steeped in history! Here's a rather processed shot (I was playing about with PS, I'm aware it's far from perfect as I'm still getting to grips with layers, but I thought I'd share it!) :)

Doug - That shot you took of the guy having a smoke, is brilliant! Did you have to ask his permission to take his photo? As he doesn't look like the kind of chap that takes too kindly to having his photo taken!
And that looks like one angry cat you have there! I love it! :)

Well done everyone, some classics on here.

This just captured a moment for me..a group of former workmates waiting for the ski-lift the morning after the night before. I call them the Parbold Desperados and the shot was taken in Les Gets in the French Alps.
Every man was hung over big time..you could smell the Jager-bombs a mile off.

Thanks Chuck! I never ask for permission, as that will always kill any kind of spontaneity or natural moments. I do however, employ certain techniques that usually tend to throw off any suspecting subjects, and they either go back to their business or simply walk away unknowing. Of course, you could always use a telephoto lens, but I always feel like that's totally creepy and impersonal. I was using a 105mm for that one, so I was fairly close to the gentleman.

And my cat is anything ever than angry, she's a sweatheart. It's just that my wife's hand is on her head, and is pulling her ears and eyes back a bit! You can't see her hand because the DOF is so shallow. But the bokeh is delish!

Those are outstanding Dm...what focal length are you shooting at w/those ? Which lens? Here's one I shot a couple hours ago. Couldn't believe it sat still enough for me to shoot it. Not as sharp as I'd have liked, but the light was scarce and was shooting at 300mm f 5.6

JDubya, I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of looking through your Flickr account - There's some truly amazing shots in there! Fantastic stuff!

Keep it coming!
