I am sure this has probably been posted before. Curious though.

Do you use a mouse, or do you use a Wacom pad/drawing tablet? I used to use a mouse, but after purchasing a tablet they are amazing. I guess it is personal preference as some people disagree, but they are just so easy to use and convenient for designing. I love them!

Do you use them, and what is your opinion of them?

Depends. Tablet is wonderful because it has pressure sensitivity thus giving you line weight. Plus doing a digital painting with a mouse is just terrible. >_<"

For spot on precision you really should be using a mouse. That doesn't really apply for drawing, or painting. More for gaming.

For quite some time I preferred it even for basic mousing tasks. You can fly all over the interface without the cludginess of having to pick up and reposition a mouse. You just put your pointer where you wanna go.

I still have an old graphire 2 from 2001ish, serves me well.

I use one, but rarely.
Since I use it so infrequently, I can't see spending major $$$ on one.

I bought the one described and reviewed here: the LaPazz Graphic Tablet (WP8060-TAB08)

I have used Wacoms in the past, but this LaPazz one works just fine for my needs.
Big drawing area, nice sensitivity and response and it only cost me $45 total... overall much more "bang for your buck" when compared to the least expensive Wacom.

I bought a Wacom Intuos3 ages ago. I bought it with the intention of drawing with it at the time but since then I've also found it really handy for editing photos.

I find them much easier to be precise with than a mouse and being able to vary things like your brush size according to your pen pressure saves loads of time resizing brushes for finer work.

Use the brackets to change the brush sizes. Faster that way.

They are worth the money, no matter which model you get. If I remember, my Bamboo was $80, and it is really nice!!

Depends what I'm doing. If I'm editing photos or drawing/painting I'll use it but when working in Illustrator using bezier handles and stuff it's horrible. I love my Wacom tablet but I need a mouse to do a lot of stuff.

Wow really? I use it all the time to draw in Illustrator. I even use it to surf the web.

I bought one a few years ago.Graphire 3 I think it is. I don't use it all that often, but when I do, the accuracy is much better than a mouse. (I use it to edit photos)

If you're an Illustrator or Photoshop user, using a mouse is like drawing with a potatoe. I love my Wacom and it was worth every penny spent.
