This isn't a photo for the faint of heart. This is a photo taken at the memorial of the Nanjing Massacre of WWII in Nanjing, China. An estimated 300,000 people, many innocent civilians, were killed by Japanese soldiers during the occupation of the city. There are several exhibits of excavated bones and digs like this one. Others were taking photos at the time, but later I was told photos weren't supposed to be taken in some areas. Personally, I think its important for people to see the atrocities of war in reality. You can learn a lot from a simple photo. This one communicates the harsh reality of war that words alone cannot.
