    How do you remove the 'recent items' option under Finder?

    Go to... System Prefs >>> Appearance >>> Then make the changes in the "Number of Recent itmes" section.

    Your choices will be to adjust the number of recent items in 3 categories (Applications, Documents, and servers). You can adjust the number from "None" up to "50".
