    Pop-up about installing a JDK
I am running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.1 on an iMac computer.
I keep getting pop-up telling me that "To us the "java" command-line tool you need to install a JDK". This happens every time I reboot or the computer wakes up from sleep. I do NOT want to use this thing. How do I stop these pop-up?

    Thanks,
    TripleSea

I am going to presume that by "To us" you, or the message, meant "to use." In that case, something in your boot or login set is built with Java. To see what that might be, you can start by looking at System Preferences/Users & Groups, look at the Login Items for your account. Get rid of whatever it is you don't want. You do that by highlighting the item and clicking the "-" at the bottom of the window. Reboot to have clean boot.

If that doesn't work and the message persists, try using Etrecheck to see what else is loaded at boot time and see what you don't want/need in the boot items.

Simple, you have installed a program that needs Java to run. Java is NOT installed by default on macOS anymore. Click on the "More Info" button to be taken to Oracle's page to download JDK, then install the JDK and the application will work. Don't want to install Java, then perhaps you should figure out which application is the culprit and decide if you want to use it or not.

Does Oracle's Java installer still have that damn "Ask" adware that it attempts to install by default?
