    Desktop remote Question
I recently purchased my iMac and must say it is the best decision I have ever made. I recently was asked to travel for a few weeks for my company. So I will be needing a laptop but I would like to be able to connect and use my iMac from the road. All my bookmarks, files etc.

With cost in mind as I'm still recovering from the 5K iMac. What system and or program will allow me to accomplish this? I would like my budget to stay in or around $500? Doesn't have to be new as I'm only going to use this 3 weeks a year. thanks..

Will you leave you iMac on for the duration of the trip?

A couple of options are the rather good TeamViewer or Chrome Remote Desktop.

Both allow you to access your computer remotely.

I use TeamViewer on my iPad to connect into Mac & Windows boxes as needed.

I second RNDdave's recommendation for TeamViewer: it's an amazing tool.

I've used it for years to perform remote access tech support for my daughter's Mac while she's away at school. I also use it to access my 'headless' home media server, an HP Stream Mini running Windows 8.1.

Thank you for the suggestions I'll check them out. My IiMac will be on the entire time of my trip. I almost never shut it down. I ended buying a new Lenovo laptop on Sale from BestBuy. Now I'm wondering if this windows laptop will talk to my iMac.. off to read.. Thanks..
