    Question Maintenance on a MAC?
    Hello everyone

Iím a relatively new MAC user, my first MAC being an iBook G4 12". I love my iBook to pieces and think itís a wonderful little machine. This is why I am keen to keep it spick and span as I do my Windows Machines... The thing is though, how do I perform things such as Disk Defragment and Scan Disk on a MAC?

It may sound silly but I havenít used the MAC OS much and am still in the learning process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Chris. :mac:

You don't need to do either in OS X

The only maintainence you need to do is whenever you update the system or install programs is repair permissions before and afterwards

To do this go into Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
Click on the Macintosh HD and click Repair Permissions
Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

If you really wanna have your system clean then use this http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20070 . It was recommended when i asked the same question. Even though i dont ahve a mac yet. So here the thread. http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/sho...+panther+clean It shows a bit of programs for that kinda stuff.
