Question imac 2013 upgrade to 5K using imac 5K parts?
Hi, I've got an iMac 2013 - i7 with 32gb ram that I use with lightroom photoshop etc.. I recently received an iMac 2015 5K i5 with 8gb ram. Is there anyway possible to either
    1. take the proper internals from the 5k and place into the 2013 to . give it 5k capabilities?
    OR
    2. upgrade the 2015 i5 to and i7 processor?

Thanks in advance - oh the other option : is there no way to use the 5k as a second monitor?

Nope. Not going to happen. Why not sell the 2015, then use the 2015, and install more ram?

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

That's why many of us are here. To help share information...or to learn from others who may know.

Anyways...I see you started another thread mentioning the bluetooth issue.

Apple is always changing things (as are other computer manufacturers). The chances that the components you would need to swap between a 2015 5K iMac into a 2013 iMac and have them fit...are very very slim. Logic boards are different shapes, cables are routed differently, cable end conncectors many times are different, other components may be located in different places, and even mounting screw holes are in different places.

There's an old site that was involved with info and modding Macs several years ago but has waned drastically, at least the last time I looked, and other users just went elsewhere and got involved with the Hacintosh type Macs, but you can check it out here:
