I have just been reading this article in Aunty Beeb, BBC to you lot over the pond. What is it on about and is there any problams for us? If so, then how would you 'Quote' "carry out regular audits of connected devices" ?

From the article, it seems these vulnerable printers are all directly attached to the Internet. But even if you have it attached to your local network, inside your router, if you have a firewall on the router that may be enough to prevent it from being accessed. However, a printer using WiFI or a direct connection wouldn't be accessible. So, for most of us, not much of an issue. Now, I didn't research what the vulnerability really is, but maybe somebody else knows what the real vulnerability is and would tell us.

Ta Jake, that's a relief. Our printer is on wifi and I would hate for anyone to be able to nail it as it's an Epson A3+ jobbie and a tad expensive

If these people are genuine then perhaps they will spur someone to look at the security hole?
