Generate a Memorable Password in macOS with Password Assitant
Are you tired of trying to come up with a unique and memorable password? Not entirely happy with Safari's auto-generated passwords? Well, you may not be aware of this, but your Mac has a potent password generator built right in called Password Assistant. Its location is not very obvious, and you need to dig a little bit to get to it, but it's well worth it!

Thought I would move this article here for everyone to read. I was not aware of the built in password generator, maybe you're not either.

Disappionting it is a 32bit module and will not work with Catalina.
Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

You're correct Harry, but we still have lots of folks who are not running Catalina. Useful for them anyway.

And yes, Password Assistant has been removed from Catalina.

its part of keychain I think right? I do recall this being there but I never used it. (I admit I did not click the link).

I would argue that if you can remember a password, it's probably easy for a hacker (a computer) to guess it. these days my passwords are long and not memorable at all... passwords are the big problem/weakness on the web that no one can seem to fix... in my view password managers are a pain and I don't trust them....

And it's very dangerous to save passwords in the browser. but we all do it for convenience... if the truth be told.

Guessing the password isn't that easy. Any semi-security conscious system should have a password policy and lock the account, after x number of tries.

The "passwords are the big problem/weakness on the web" is correct, but not the end user's side. It is on the authentication servers' side, that gets exploited and the hackers download the authentication database. In which case, does it really matter, if your password is "123456" or "94OTyvq81}0K"? Spoiler, it does not...

I do trust password manager with local database, that does not have cloud feature. Remembering 40+ password is a pain and impossible, at least for me. I do recall password that used on the daily basis, but others that used seldomly trips me up all the times. That's where the local password manager comes handy...
