What's so funny? After I calibrate with an xrite iOne the monitor is still too bright, it's a known issue on imacs. At work I have a NEC that calibrates fine with just the xrite ione. We have Kodak...

Are you using - reduce file size?
I would use PDF optimizer. Under the Advanced menu item drop down. Then you can set your own specifications for the down-sampling of images.
At work we use Suitcase Fusion for font management. It's the best one for the mac right now.
