I especially like that last quote. It reminds me of all the political noise we are currently being subjected to here in the US. Unfortunately, it's going to get even worse as we draw near to November 2020.

A couple "side-thought's" to this. Ambrose Bierce passed away in 1914 (105 years ago)...and he was commenting on how lottery's were a "Tax on people who were bad at math."

    * Just goes to show that all of the various lottery's run by various governments around the world that lottery's are nothing new (not a new/newish phenomenon).
    * We would think that in the last (at least) 105 years...that the average person's math skills would have improved (due to the overall better/more available education around the world). But lots & lots of "educated" folks still play the lottery regularly...and they all think/hope they will be "the one" to win!

I cannot remember whose quote this is but by gum it is very true:

Sometime when you are feeling important, sometime when your ego is in bloom
sometime when you feel that you are the most important man in the room
sometime when you feel that your going would leave as unfillable hole
just follow these simple instructions and see how the humble your sole.

Take a bucket and fill it with water and put your hands in it up to your wrists
take them out and the hole that remains is a measure of how much you will be missed
you may splash all you like as you enter, you may store up the water galore
but stop and you will find in a minute that it looks just the same as before.

The moral of this is quite simple, just do the best that you can
be proud of yourself but remember, the is no indispensable man!

Hi toMACsh, Thank you for that information, my brain does not seem to work as well as it used to. The elevator does not go up to the top floor very often these days!

In my opinion lines spoken by actors in movies/films actors who are simply regurgitating lines written in a script are really not famous people/famous quotes. Famous people are more like Nobel Prize winners, great authors, poets, exceptional leaders (political/military/etc.), artists, leaders of movements, or people who in some way changed the world.

Movie actors regurgitating script lines are not famous people. Well-known persons & quotes that are popular with the general public for entertainment purposes yes. But not famous. Lol

Remember (for the most part)...actors are only regurgitating lines that are written for them in a movie/film script. The actors themselves did not come up with the original thought/statement themselves. Thus what actors say is not famous or not original whatsoever.

Famous quotes are normally original thoughts by famous people (scientists, authors, leaders, artists, etc)...who came up with that original statement/thought themselves.
