Without a doubt I'm putting it on my desktop PC which is currently running 8.1.

I would have liked it if my Surface RT would get it, but it looks like at best it's just going to get some type of update with maybe a few Windows 10-like features, and that's it. But whatever, I can deal with that.

I have one less Windows machine to worry about -- I sold my laptop to my sister-in-law because they needed one.

So now I have four computers -- this Mac mini, my Windows tower, my Surface RT, and a Google Nexus 7.

Life is good ... everything is running really well.

But yeah, I know this is a Mac forum, so I try not to talk about Windows much, but since this thread is about Windows 10, I'll just sum up by saying I'm excited about it and looking forward to its release later this year.

CarpathiaMan, I gotta ask, what happened to Windows 9?
I used to be conceited but now I'm perfect.

Microsoft decided not to call the next version of Windows = "9" because of the confusion it might cause with Windows 95. Not confusing to me, but who knows what they're thinking in Redmond?

I'm going with the explanation that it wouldn't look good in German:

    Windows? NEIN!!!

Haha. But of course, I'm sure everybody knows by now that it must be mostly marketing ... I mean, a jump from 8 to 10 just "sounds" bigger and better, and what with their whole thing about a "One" Windows philosophy and one experience that scales from one device to the next, well, you do the math.

It will be interesting if this is in fact the last version of Windows we ever buy, and it just gets upgraded continuously from this point forward.

Ha, ha,ha, that is extremely funny I hadn't thought of the German connection, shades of Faulty Towers. I thought Windows 9 may have been so bad they just decided to scrap it and start again from scratch. Or is it keeping up with the competition, OSX versus WX?

I personally wouldn't doubt if that was part of it, too.

Good news as long as 10 is NOTHING like 8. I used that for a couple months at a contract job and hated it. Of course, it doesn't really benefit me considering how very very little I use Windows at home in a virtual machine on my iMac. Once every month or every other month maybe?

WinX will be interesting in that where I work aborted on a Win8 project. We are on Win7 now and we have to go somewhere at some point. If we get it at work and if I like it I may upgrade the Win7 VM on my Mac at home. Honestly, my Win7 works fine enough for me on the 3GB of RAM I feed the VM, so if Win10 took more that that to run Outlook or Visio or Project acceptably that might be a deal breaker.
