Isn't it about time Apple opened up Bootcamp to allow other operating systems to be run on Mac hardware? Let's face it - do we really owe Bill Gates any more money? Earth to Tim Cook - open your eyes!!!!

Boot Camp was designed specifically for Windows. Most (other) OS's work fine with Apple hardware.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

Coz that is the way it is made.
Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

You don't need Bootcamp to instal LinuxMint 17 or Ubuntu or even the less compatible Chrome OS. Even Windows can be setup using a Virtual Box or Dual boot system. Apple just came up with Bootcamp as an easier way to do it from the macOS partition.
I used to be conceited but now I'm perfect.
