    Is there a windows app i can get like XCode that is for Android OS? I'm running Windows 8 so the software has to work with 7.

    The preferred tool for Android application development appears to be Eclipse with Google's ADT plugin (here). A nice benefit to having an Eclipse based tool is that it will work cross platform.

    Thanks, that's great that it uses Eclipse for when I get fed up with the Windows VM haha

    If you're planning to do Android development, you might as well do in OS X. There's no benefit to doing it in Windows if you're running it in a VM.
