Its Here: The 16-inch MacBook Pro
The long-awaited 16-inch MacBook Pro arrived today, touted by Apple as by far the most powerful notebook weve ever made. Probably the most desired feature of the new MacBook Pro is the new Magic Keyboard, which features a scissor mechanism with 1 mm of travel for responsive and quiet typing...without the mechanical issues of the troublesome butterfly-switch keyboard used on recent models. The new laptop replaces the 15-inch MacBook Pro and starts at $2,799.

Not bad for an "entry level" 16" MacBook Pro. The standard 16GB of memory plus the 1TB SSD may be all that most folks need. However, a power user is certainly going to want more and since that machine is not user upgradeable, the added memory and storage plus the purchase of Apple Care Plus will push the price above $4K.

Now I can start my "used computer timer". 3 years from today I'll be getting a used 16" MacBook Pro! Lol
