Would you believe another problem? Tried to register new San Disk for warranty and unable to find the serial number. Tried all the numbers on the box--none worked. Looked on the back of the device and think I see some numbers very faintly but they are impossible to read. If possible, will try to call the company on Monday.

Should be on the package, back of the device (youíll need a magnifying glass) and sometimes on the invoice. Hope that helps.

Had a friend take a picture of the back of disk and with a magnifying glass able to discern the S/N. I could never have seen the number and it's absolutely ridiculous that it was so difficult to obtain. Sure hope the performance is better than this S/N debacle.

Well done. Just a handy hint as we age, I’m 67, I have an app (free) on my iPhone called Glasses, it offers 10X magnification plus light and macro photo function for all those hard to see things.

Hi Rod - thanks for the 'Glasses app' recommendation - just did a DL to my iPhone and seems to work well! Dave

I'm going to check that out myself. I've used the Camera app for this a number of times. I'm curious to see if this is an improvement.

Should have been more clear - external HDs are what I was talking about. You can certainly find naked 3.5" drives for use internally.
