Airport Time Capsule backup and printer
Is it possible to setup a capsule so that it can be used as a back up device, for a number of machines (apple and windows) and also to use it to share printers?

I'm not going to answer the use of Time Capsule with Windows since that isn't the intended purpose, so you will have to properly cobble something on your own that doesn't interfere with Time Machine on the Mac.

But for the Macs, you just have to enable Time Machine and point each of them at the Time Capsule and the rest is handled automatically. Each Mac will backup to the Time Capsule in its own sparse bundle and you can restore as you see fit.

Any device (Mac or Windows) connected to the Time Capsule can use any of the devices connected to it, so yes printers can be shared along with additional external drives.
