Connectin iMac to PC via thunderbolt 2
Could I connect an iMac (late 15) to PC via thunderbolt for file sharing? PC have usb 3.1 so it would need T3 to T2 adapter.

I found this article and wondered if anyone have tested a thunderbolt 3 to 2 setup

No, but over the home network would work.

I shared an external drive on my wife's winOS pc and it is now accessible by all computers on our network.

It's an old article from 2014 and it does not apply to direct connections by cable. Agreed it would be a lot faster but as Bob Ferrar indicated, you will need to do it by network for now.

macOS and winOS can not communicate directly, that's why networking is needed for their protocols to interact.

Found this video so it should work. But the question is still that does it work only on thunderbolt and not usb3.1
