Sierra and Canon printer Pixma iX4000 compatibility
Is anyone with this printer having problems with Sierra? Canon say their current driver v 11.7.1.0 for this model doesnít work with Sierra http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/printers/inkjet/pixma_ix_series/pixma_ix4000.aspx?type=drivers&language=EN&os=macO S%2010.12%20(Sierra) Yet this site says that it does http://mac.thetutorialfree.com/2016/10/03/canon-ix4000-driver-for-mac-os-x-10-12-sierra-how-to-get-install/ Also Apple says v 13.7.1.0 works with Sierra https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201465#Canon Thatís the driver version I already have on my system (Mavericks, but have downloaded Sierra ready to install). So maybe the printer will work anyway when I install Sierra? Incidentally I note that my Epson scanner has a driver available for Sierra and have downloaded that ready to install too

Do you have this driver file downloaded, http://www.canon-europe.com/support/...%20(Yosemite)? This is the file, in the article you included the link for, that the article says will work.

How are you going to install Sierra? As an upgrade, over your current OS X version, or, are you doing a clean install? If this is for a business/income generating Mac, you should clone your existing startup disk onto an external disk, or a different partition. Then on the cloned drive, do the upgrade and see if the printer still works, or if there is an issue, this way you can still use the original disk to use for work.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.
