Garageband For MacBook Pro 2009 ???
    Hi,

Just purchased a MacBook Pro 2009, OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.6, and would like to install Garageband, but not sure which version of GB would be compatible for this OS.. I've researched online but it's confusing at best.. any advice would be helpful..

iLife '09 would probably be best. Only available on DVD.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

You can purchase the iLife 09 DVD on eBay and elsewhere. Do some searching with your browser. You may be able to install an older version of GB if you can find one for free. I don't think the Mac App Store will let you download a copy unless you previously owned it.

Just a bit of a crazy thought here, but make sure that a version of Garageband.app isn't already installed on that MBPro, and sortof hiding in some iLife folder in your Applications folder.
