Don't want Imac and MacBook desktop to synchronize
I have a MacBook Pro for years. A few weeks ago I bought an iMac Pro.
Whenever I install a program on my MacBook, the shortcut also appears on my iMac. Although the program is not present on my iMac.
When I delete the shortcut from the desktop of the iMac it deletes also from the MacBook. How can I make sure both desktops do NOT synchronize?

A warm welcome to Mac-Forums. Thank you for your post.

    Try this:

On each Mac, go into System Preferences > Click on iCloud > Click on iCloud Drive > Click on Options and make sure "Desktop & Document Folders" is NOT checked.

Before carrying out this procedure you need to make sure that any files already in iCloud Drive are downloaded to a new folder, which is not in Desktop or Documents or you'll lose them.
Peter - I used to be paranoid but now I just worry all the time
