Relocated Items Folder on the desktop after installing Catalina
There have been numerous questions regarding this folder and what if anything can be done with it. The following article explains what the Relocated Items Folder is and how to remove it:

There's a rather.... irritating bug Apple introduced here that apparently is widespread. In my Relocated Items, if you dive through the folders, there's an "X11" symlink that leads to /opt/X11. You can put the symlink in the trash, but the trash won't empty because macOS "needs" it. Apparently the only way to delete this symlink (and thus the Relocated Items folder) is to boot into Recovery Mode and use Terminal. Pffft. "Just works", they say.

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

I removed my Relocated Items after installing Catalina and todays latest update to Catalina introduced a new Relocated Items folder!

Pine Man, the reappearance of the Relocated folder was identified as an outcome on several Mac friendly sites when the update was released. I suspect that folder is going to continue to appear/reappear as releases to Catalina come out. More and more items will be identified to go into that folder. Eventually all of the offending files will be identified (unless your third party software continues to create new ones) and the relocated folder will stop appearing at each update.
