A somewhat knowledgeable PC user claimed with Windows 10, the windows platform is stabler and safer the apples OSX. Supposedly less siscepabke malware also. I don't have the knowledge to verify what he or refute it. What is the truth here?

There are no viruses in the wild for macOS. Zero. Can Windows make that claim?

Other than that, it's a religious argument that neither side can or will win. Windows fans won't move. Mac users won't move. No point in talking about it.

    They regularly do.
Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

I will say winOS has been much better with win 10. But itís still personal preference, as I have three here at home I maintain for the family. I really donít have to do as much as I used to do.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.

These types of discussions are usually useless. There are enough folks to who like and enjoy their Macs as much as there are those who like and enjoy Windows. So to each their own. Microsoft has been steadily improving the Windows OS over time on multiple fronts.

But just so you know, Windows is neither more stable or safer than OS X, Linux or any other Unix based system. That's just the nature of it and the underlying difference between how these two types of OS' operate.

I wouldn't debate this topic with that person, let them be happy with their choice and you be happy with yours.

I've been using both for years now. I go through swings of liking one more than the other depending on what I'm doing. At the end of the day, both are viable.

I also use both, an iMac and a Macbook Pro and an iPad Air. Also a desktop pc running Windows 10 and 2 laptops running Windows 10, and I like all my computers. I will say that Windows 10 has just about caught up with Apple on the security front, and are just as good as Apple in use! The one area where a Windows PC is ahead, is easy accessibility to repair, but Macs tend to be slightly more reliable........Swings and roundabouts!
