Catalina TV/Music/etcI figured out how to share from my iTunes mac mini movie server. I see it on my Apple TV
I have no idea how to view those movies shared by the mac mini on my iMac.
Movies that I've bought show up but nothing I ripped and is shared by the mac mini is available on my iMac.
Help? Thanks

That down arrow/carrot doesn't exist on my iMac. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Are you referring to one of the check marks? (There are two shown, one beside "My Library" an don in the right panel in a blue box.) Sorry, but your statement makes no sense to me.

Look on the left side of the pic. The word "Library" has a down arrow right beside it and the word "Edit" at the end of the same line.
The word "Library" has been clicked and there's a drop down box that has "My Library" (which is checked), "Master iTunes Library" (which I'd imagine is that person's video repository), and "hammer" (no idea, probably just another box with home sharing turned on)
My machine does not have that down arrow beside the word "Library". If I cursor over the word, then the "Edit" shows up and I can choose what I want to show in the window but that down arrow does not show up.
Does that help?

Yes. That little icon I have heard called a "twisty" in that if you click on it, it twists 90 degrees to show the items under that heading in a list and if you click it again, it "twists" back.
But if there is no twisty there, that means there is nothing for it to show you. Which means on the iMac there is nothing in the Library.Jake

Yes. I know that. There is nothing in the iMac's library. That's how it's been for years. I don't want anything to be on the iMac.
I want to view what is in the mac mini's library. I want to play what's in the mac mini's library. That is what home sharing is for.
Without that caret, there is no way to view what is on the mac mini's library.
Now, do you have a suggestion to do what I have been asking the entire thread? I would appreciate it.

You have to turn on home sharing even on the machines you want to receive the listings. Don't get it but that works so there we are.

So, did that sort it out?

Both Mac’s also need to be on the same “Home” network. I don’t know if the same Apple ID is required? I don’t remember that being a requirement in older macOS versions.
