How to make a Bootable ( OS 10.4 ) USB running High Sierra
Hello , I want to run Tiger ( OS 10.4 ) on my Mid 2011 iMac that is running High Sierra ( 10.13 )

I downloaded the file from the Apple Website the file name is : MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.6Intel.dmg

All I could find was information on how to do it using an ISO file of an Older version of OS 10 .

if someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated .

The main reason I want to do this is I have an audio interface that will not work on anything newer than 10.4 and there are no drivers available for it ( at least to my knowledge )

If I left out some important information , please let me know .
    Thank You
    John

Not sure you can do it since the minimum version of macOS your Mid 2011 iMac can run is Snow Leopard 10.6.X. You can try creating a partition on your iMac and install Tiger that way. I'm not certain that it will work but you can give it a try.

Also, the Combo 10.4.6 Intel dmg is not going to work. That's a combo update file which needs the original. You're going to need a full install retail Tiger Intel DVD (black disc not silver). You can possibly find one on eBay but it won't be cheap.

I just wanted to confirm what Charlie said above, that Mid 2011 iMac cannot and will not run any OS version earlier than Snow Leopard 10.6.3, so don't bother wasting your time trying. I can guarantee the fact as I have and use the same Mac model.

Why not post some information about the audio interface you have and what it is you want to do with it. There is a good chance some members will provide you with some alternatives that will run on your existing OS and do whatever it is that you want to do.

    Thanks for the info ,
Now that you mentioned it , I do have the original Tiger OS ( Black Box ) also , I was planning on running Tiger in Virtualbox ( does that make a difference ? )

Patrick , I will take your advice on posting regarding my Audio Interface . Thanks !

I really don't know and I have no idea if that would work and I have no experience working with such software.

I guess you could always try.
