When booting I always have to enter network name
I use a Mac Desktop which is currently running Mojave version 10.14.6. All of a sudden, and for no reason that I can find, whenever I boot my computer I have to go to preferences, network, and enter in my network name. Otherwise my computer is not connected to the Internet. Can someone tell me what I have done, and how to correct this so that the computer automatically connects to the network?

    Help is greatly appreciated!

Two things to check. System Preferences>Network>WiFi interface> where you see the network name, is the box under it, labelled "Automatically join this network" checked and the box below "Ask to join new networks" UN-checked?

EDIT: IF that doesn't work, you might try deleting the network and re-joining it. To do that, click on Advanced, find the network name in the list and highlight it, then click the "-" button below the box. Accept the changes. Now let it find it again and log in.

Tried what you said....Evidently I was using the wrong network. Changed the network, and that worked. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

You can arrange the order in which it tries networks. Just drag/drop the network you want tried first to the top of the stack.
