    Recovery Mode issue
If this is not the correct area to post, just let me know. But im having an issue booting into Recovery Mode on my macbook air 2017 model. It keeps getting stuck on the wifi selection menu. When I select my wifi and enter my password, it just goes back to the drop down for wifi selection.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to our forums.

Explain exactly what it is you're trying to do by booting into recovery. A WiFi connection is not needed to boot to recovery unless you're planning on reinstalling macOS from the internet. Is that what you're trying to do?

Im pressing cmd+R in order to reinstall the mac os in the mac utilities. When it boots up, it requires me to choose a wifi and connect to it but it will not connect.

So this leads me to ask why do you want/need to reinstall the macOS?

I only ask because if you are trying to reinstall the OS because of a problem it may be the problem that's preventing you from connecting to the download servers. Generally you are better off repairing or reinstalling from a bootable source like a USB thumb drive with a macOS installer on it.

Please backup. Everything has a life cycle, unexpected and warning free. Nothing will last as long as you want it to.
