Retrieve data from Bands folder (time machine)
Hi…*I recently had my time machine sparsebundle corrupted. I have not been able to fix it nor copy it elsewhere via OS. I finally decided to copy it to another drive using the "sudo ditto" terminal command. Out of 650 GB only 405 GB got copied till it reached an error. Those 405 GB manifested in a "Bands" folder… my question is, is there a way I can retrieve some of my information using the files on the Bands folder?

    Thanks in advance,

Probably not. Also if the original sparsebundle was corrupted, it's very likely the entire backup process and data has been compromised and is unreliable. Since the data you're trying to recover is a backup, you should have a copy elsewhere (original). Just erase the backup drive and start over. Also, be sure to run First Aid on that drive to make sure it's still usable. You might want to consider using an additional method of backing up your data other than Time Machine. Most of us also use cloning software: Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. Requires an additional external hard drive but nowadays they are inexpensive even for the large capacity drives.
