screen sharing from Sierra to Tiger. possible?
Im able to get to the files on the older imac running tiger from my new mac with Sierra. but when I click share screen and user my name and no password, nothing happens. I'm assuming I cant control the screen from Sierra to a imac running tiger? unless i'm doing something wrong. I was able to do this when the older imac had El Capitan, worked like a charm. not a big deal if I can't, I'm installing snow lep now... will probably put El Capitan back on it since I've wiped the drive.

I haven't had reason to test that recently. I can't test with Tiger anyway since I don't have any gear that runs it anymore. Working from memory here but there are a couple of things I would check:

    1. Make sure screen sharing is enabled on both machines.
    2. Make sure that's enabled for the account you will be logging into.
    3. If I remember correctly I had to enter the password for the receiving account (the one I wanted to see).

You're welcome. I didn't remember that. Could have sworn I did that before 10.6.8 though the last time I did it I was certainly on at least 10.6.8.

Thanks for posing back and letting us know that bit of info. I'm sure it will help someone.

BTW unless something goes wrong your thread about deleting user accounts/info is going to get a mention in tonight's video chat.
