keychain password no longer matches admin password

like it used to. I updated from 10.12.1 to 10.12.2 and now there are a few processes wanting access to keychain via a dialog box.
When I type in the admin password, it is rejected and clicking cancel does not remove the dialog box.
one process is "sharingd" and it wants access to the "Local Items" keychain which is locked of course.
Is there some way I can change the keychain password to match the admin password again?

First up I trust you are not using FileVault, or encryption? Second check caps lock, something we all do from time to time.
Next up consider resetting the password and have a read of this link from Apple:-
